Care & Share Delivery

This ministry began in the mid to late 80’s when Kemmerer Village started delivering meals to the homes of shut-ins in the community. In the beginning, the meals were delivered by KV staff on Monday and Friday with a sack lunch included for Saturday. Shortly thereafter, local churches became involved with the meal delivery and now the local Ministerial Association is also involved in the ministry. Each of the local churches has a liaison responsible for getting people to deliver for their assigned week. The liaison for Assumption Christian Church is Mary Harper.

Each church delivers every 5 weeks.  Someone from KV brings the meals to town where they are picked up and delivered by a designated person of the church responsible for delivery each week. KV sends a list of names/addresses/and instructions of what door each recipient likes their meals delivered to. If someone doesn't need a meal on a given day or if there is someone new added KV informs the deliverer of such.  It normally takes about 30-40 minutes to deliver the meals.

If you want to get involved in meal delivery or even take a larger role in this ministry, contact Mary Harper or one of the ministers. A sign up to deliver meals is placed on the Welcome Center and announced in the weeks leading up to the week we are assigned delivery. This is a much-needed ministry in the community and something that almost anyone can do!

If someone is in need of meals the direct phone number for the person responsible for the meal delivery schedule is 226-2122 at KV - either Bonnie Elam or Arlene Harbarger will be able to tell them what they need to do to get on the delivery list
